You're my own, personal, brand of heroin...

dorothy perkins dress, vintage necklaces, new look shoes

Figured I should show you my Christmas outfit before New Years Eve.. I'll give you a few clues.. it's sparkly and sequinned.. Anyway, I'm really pleased about this photos, I edited them to have this vintage effect for a change.
What did you guys get for Christmas? I've got some nice things to show you soon, thank you Santa!

You know that line in Twilight, when Edward describes Bella as a drug? Me and my friend laughed so hard in the cinema that she gave me this a Christmas present! :)
HAVE A GREAT NIGHT TONIGHT! HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I'm the bird of prey

Hi. I am SO disappointed. It snowed, but within 10minutes it had turned to a murky grey slush.. I had time for one quick snowball fight, then the transformation occured. Ugh. London. And I'm facing a whole holiday of revision for my trial exams...
^Somethings majorly wrong with my face here..
How great is H&M kids? In fact two items which I'm wearing are from there. Underneath (you can't see) is a two tone bodycon dress, and this t-shirt was £3!
Gotta admit, I'm quite proud of this rapid hair styling! Plait chunk of hair on the lesser side of the side parting, flip over like a hair band, secure, straighten layers underneath. All in 5minutes!

vintage levi jacket, H&M kids t-shirt and bodycon dress, carboot sale desert boots, vintage bag and scarf

P.S. This will be the last time I post before the big day, so HAVE A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS! (but I'll still be checking our your blogs!)

Échangez les jours froids pour le soleil?

I have a feeling that I failed to mention a mini-holiday I took in south of France, near St.Tropez. My friend (lucky bastard) has a house there, and me and five others spent 4days there: a much needed break from maths revision! Here are the best of the pictures, courtesy of a friend. I saved these because its lovely to look at sunny photos in the middle of the cold winter months. You can just feel the warmth..
Wow. Sometimes I forget how beautiful it was. It looks like something out of a travel magazine! Whats was your favourite holiday?

Into the garden, under the ivy

I went to an evil themed party recently, I went as a vampire (original, I know) and I've got a Moulin Rouge themed party next - my outfit will be pretty much the same but with more things feathery, glittery and red. And minus the tears of blood from my eyes.

Under the leaves,
Away from the party,
Right to the rose,
Right to the white rose
For me.
Not sure I like this post, its a bit too messy for my liking...
I've eventually got round to showing you this dress I made. It's a bit of a basic outfit, floral dress and a leather jacket (or should I say "pleather"?).
Really basic sewing: rectangle of Laura Ashley fabric, hemmed and then sewn to form a tube. Which is why it doesn't fit great, but there wasn't much fabric to work with. It was just leftover curtain material in my house.

Red and purple lipstick all over the page

Any ideas as to where I should apply for work experience in London? My first application was rejected. Ugh. Something about university people getting priority? Ugh ugh ugh. I'll cheer myself up by talking about my new (but very old) winter coat..

hype?

I actually wanted an vintage American Football jacket last year, when I saw one in Beyond Retro, but decided against it (as it was £30 and I wouldn't wear it much due to difficult colours), and I'm glad I didn't. I picked this one up from a car boot sale for only £4! It was in really bad quality though, the lining was moth eaten and stained. Easily fixed by a seamstress!

vintage jacket and bag, h&m top and hat, topshop shorts and primark boots
&&& YAY I have 20 followers now! Thank you so much! My blogs date back to miles ago, but as you can see I only got round to posting once per month. That time is over. I'm hopefully back for good.

One life here with me and it's magic

I've been so busy with work recently that the blog has become stagnant :( I've been trying to find work experience placements as well as revising for my maths GCSE which is on Tuesday... Wish me luck!

I've been really inspired by Ladyhawke (aka Pip Brown) recently. Her refusal to wear womens clothes paired with a bowler hat and her new song Magic (post title). Here are a few of my favourite photos of her. And hence have worn a baggy leather jacket and jumper for this next outfit. Which, incidentally, are both meant for boys.

dads jumper, h&m boys leather jacket, primark boots

P.S. Sorry I look so moody and evil in this photo, I'm not sure what happened here...
P.P.S. I have scheduled posts so I can regulate posts on the blog! Why didn't I think of this before??
P.P.P.S. But of course I will still get back to all your lovely comments!

I wanna do bad things with you..

1.It's been a busy month.. here's a few things that I've done..and an outfit!
vintage bag, topshop skirt, primark vest, french supermarket velvet blazer, necklace from a car boot sale

HYPE?

2. Here are some pictures I took at Bestival, a festival on the Isle of Wight. I never knew Mika had such stage presence! Other bands I saw were MGMT, Klaxons, FrankMusik, Lily Allen, Little Boots, Bat For Lashes and La Roux. It was an amazing weekend with great costumes due to the space theme.. I wore my AA skater dress with silver lips and starry accessories as the "Space Goddess". And the mandatory space boots, (see here for when I wore them).

3. Went on a picnic while the nice weather lasted.

4. I went a-camping and hiking. Good weather in October? What are the chances... Also, ALWAYS bring caramel waffles camping. They saved our lives (and legs).

5. Attended my friend's boyfriend's band's gig. It was a small crowd, but they're definitely the best: sweaty and intimate. :)

Until next time..

P.S. You might have noticed that the post title is from the soundtrack of "True Blood". I've just finished Season 1.. Anyone else obsessed?
P.P.S. You also might have noticed the change in header. I'd had the old one for waaaay too long. The painting of the girl is by me :)

The Forest Pirate

Here I am! I'm back! I'm back and I'm bringing my obsession of head-scarves with me...
Btw, this outfit is multi-functioning at its best: the boots are actually my rock/ice boots and that clutch isn't a clutch - its a makeup bag! Check me out. Recession chic.
scarf, belt, oversized tuxedo all vintage, topshop navy tunic (borrowed from friend), pink clutch unknown, primark ring
Before I leave you, please listen to this song. I promise you won't regret it. It is "One more chance" by Bloc Party, and to play (which you are about to do) click here.

There are no words for me in your dictionary

Believe it or not, I took this photo in London. In a secret place.
I would like to introduce you to my 99p carboot sale boots! I had to have them resoled, but, as genuine Harley Davison boots they are worth around £80.
But I am never ever going to sell them. They are too beautiful and are currently my welly alternative (after over usage my old pair of wellingtons are now not waterproof- not a good trait to have in a boot).

This jumper has a story too. When I bought it, (from Beyond Retro) it was at the same time that Alexa Chung was in the store! Imagine just browsing through rails of vintage and then BAM its your idol. It was an awesome moment. You should have been there.
harley davison boots, topshop shorts, vintage bag and jumper

P.S. Unfortunately, my friends call me "dictionary" when I wear this. Apparently thats what it reminds them of. I have great friends :)
P.P.S. I'm hiding my face because so far I'd spent 2nights under canvas - not a pretty sight..
P.P.P.S. Have a picture of Alexa in her cowbooy boots.

X's, on the back of your hand

These tights are an example of what happens when you get a long essay set in a double English lesson. My teacher didn't approve of my use of time and put me in detention. Ah well. Just outta interest, do you prefer it when I post multiple photos or one photo collage?

Hype?

So far its been an eventful summer with several glorious daytrips; we went to Brighton yesterday and ate jelly :) I'm going camping in a field soon (no reason) so there shall no doubt be some interesting photos from there...
american apparel skater dress, ben sherman leather jacket, zara heels, assortment of necklaces, zara shoes
P.S anyone seen The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift? An awesome film.

Like vines we intertwine

Yet again, I apologise. I went on an unplanned holiday minus a camera or phone, and therefore there has been a lack of posts :( Sorry! However...

Encore of the denim jacket! This time it returns hand in hand with the "Krisp" playsuit! Krisp is a usually tacky shop in my local shopping centre, which is gradually improving, hence I decided to swallow all fears of silver glitter glued onto fluorescent yellow ruffles and venture inside... and found this floral playsuit was reduced to 10squid! Result!

Also, I can promise you more posts soon. Let's shake on it.

Where I go, we're dressing down

Is it bad that I've seen Harry Potter twice already? And have scheduled various more screenings? Ah well (and yes I know its not even that great). I feel it's my duty as a Harry Potter neek.
hype me? pretty please?

In the spring I shed my skin

Now its summer (ish) I've rediscovered my love of cycling. On the road. Sometimes I find it a lot more interesting and enjoyable because of the lovely smooth surface. What do you think?
vintage silk shirt && satchel, DIY bleached shorts, second hand sandals, dads grey top :)
p.s i got lookbook! check this look out there in the spring I shed my skin
p.p.s i sorted out the broken link, so sorry!

This is a gift, it comes at a price

So sorry for the neglection of the blog! I would also like to say thank you for all the lovely comments, and I'm getting back to all of them! Anyways, heres an outfit I wore to a party...

Post title from Florence and the Machine, I saw her last year at a gig - amazing gold and silver face paint! Oh and my chosen song (Alright by Supergrass) and text message was played/read out on Xfm today! It made me so happy - it was todays "Songbook Status" :)

Another outfit I wore out with friends. I love love love the pattern of the skirt; the daisys are adorable. Also thought I'd show you my henna tattoo...
