Prom Night

1: beautiful photo I took of beautiful Lucy's back
2: chammmmpaaagne!
3: me and Phoebe's oh-so-peachy behind
4: the wait between courses produced this. thanks Jake
5: me and my boyfriend. It's our three year anniversary TODAY! :D
6: "bucks fizz" which was most definitely just tropicana in a fancy glass

Just a few photos from our "Leavers Ball" i.e. prom. I wore green with a rose gold necklace and clutch + nudey fur jacket, all courtesy of my mother, haha. I was generally happy about my dress [Monsoon] until it decided to photo almost a minty colour with flash when it was actually grass green. Lies.... But that aside,  everyone looked gorgeous, it was a hell of a lot of fun,, and I have the blisters from 11 hours in my Kurt Geiger's to prove it!
What colour did you wear to your prom? I loved the rainbow of all the girls at mine :)

Yes I'm back from holidays/stress etc!

Reading Mudfest - Part one

Eventually - Reading photos! I don't think you would believe the amount of mud - we're talking thigh high. So, weather aside, WAS AMAZING. Weezer was definitley the best, they played a cover of Teenage Dirtbag, one of my favourite songs ever. So these are day time photos, and on the fashion side of things, I did it! I didn't wear my Levi's allllll weekend! Perhaps this is the end of an era. Anyway, enjoy. (Index of photos below)

Thursday: Arrived late afternoon, to a previously pitched tent. Raining. No wellies.

Friday: Mud kicks in, along with music! Yay. First band I see, Two Door Cinema Club, I get crushed into a metal pole* and bruise my rib :(  But in the evening, we go to  Gun n Roses, which is an epic fail. (Except for Welcome to the Jungle obv). So I see Marina and the Diamonds instead, who is FAB. I love her.
Waiting... Waiting.
YES. I HAVE WELLIES. Thank you Primark in Reading for saving me from trench foot. Thank you.
1 Ellie and me (best photo I reckon); 2 Random day photos; 3 Us in our local swamp (I'm in the green cardi + sunnies); 4 Me a-chillin in our swamp; 5 Lucy and me; 6 Tent dayz; 7 Gang; 8 Gang; 9 Lucy on floor
-Photos are mine, LUCY'S, IZZY'S-
Part two brings Saturdays and Sundays ventures, plus pictures... of the NIGHT.

Interesting fact about the pole incident, my friend had to bite the arm of the girl who was crushing me into the pole. To be fair, I couldn't breathe, and my rib was being bruised.

Where is my mind?

Hmm, well on my birthday weekend, had some people round for a bbq and a den fest. It involved a wigwam collapsing, guitar playing and many, many tealights on the wooden balcony..

Nigella's Rocky Roads.. YUM.

Constant turmoil. See y'all soon

Madames and monsieurs please return to your cubicles

Haha, shoot me now. NYE photos.. over two weeks late.
I had an awesome night, thank you Izzy :)
She kindly donated a house to trash.
Hey, I helped tidy up! A bit.
Me in action. Attractive. Huh. Where are my heels??
Oh and the this picture is purely for my own (and your) amusement. I have no idea as to what was going through my mind at this point.
For the more observant of you, yes I'm wearing different blazers in each photo. Don't ask.

The dress is actually my mothers from the 80's, I've only had the privilege of wearing once before to a Barbie party :) What would I do without my family and their clothes?

vintage sequin dress, blazer of a brother, tuxedo of a father, mask of another brother..

P.S the post title is from a song by the Maccabees (who are pretty good btw) who actually wrote the song about a swimming pool @ a leisure centre I attended as a kid.. Small world huh?

I wanna do bad things with you..

1.It's been a busy month.. here's a few things that I've done..and an outfit!
vintage bag, topshop skirt, primark vest, french supermarket velvet blazer, necklace from a car boot sale

HYPE?

2. Here are some pictures I took at Bestival, a festival on the Isle of Wight. I never knew Mika had such stage presence! Other bands I saw were MGMT, Klaxons, FrankMusik, Lily Allen, Little Boots, Bat For Lashes and La Roux. It was an amazing weekend with great costumes due to the space theme.. I wore my AA skater dress with silver lips and starry accessories as the "Space Goddess". And the mandatory space boots, (see here for when I wore them).

3. Went on a picnic while the nice weather lasted.

4. I went a-camping and hiking. Good weather in October? What are the chances... Also, ALWAYS bring caramel waffles camping. They saved our lives (and legs).

5. Attended my friend's boyfriend's band's gig. It was a small crowd, but they're definitely the best: sweaty and intimate. :)

Until next time..

P.S. You might have noticed that the post title is from the soundtrack of "True Blood". I've just finished Season 1.. Anyone else obsessed?
P.P.S. You also might have noticed the change in header. I'd had the old one for waaaay too long. The painting of the girl is by me :)

Gigging

On the 23rd April I saw Art Brut at an instore gig at Banquet Records.

That place is an absolute legend! They've housed Noah & the Whale, Mystery Jets, Frank Turner, White Lies, The Rifles, The Futureheads and many more, for a mere cost of one album. And then you get free signed posters after (and anything else you want signed, see my ticket holder below).

Now I can't wait for Alessi's Ark & Hockey: I love their single "Too Fake".

The Dreaded Outdoors

I hate this place. It brings back memories of pain.

My feet are ACHING after my dreaded school hike. I think we walked 20K over the whole weekend, most of it uphill. However, I did take some very green pictures of the hellhole (remind me to never ever ever go to Wormeley again).

No offence if you live in Wormley.

The Evil English Teacher

We happen to have the most boring English teacher in the world. He has a seating plan, which he has placed me on the edge of the class, where only me and two others sit (hence I am not in the photos). Everytime I sit down for a double, I just about cry. So in attempt to "liven" up the class we try a new trick everytime he ventures out of the classroom.

First we tried hiding under our desks: a classic.

He then returned to annotating our poems like nothing happened. Eventually we had to give up and retreat from under our desks.

Then we turned our desks round the wrong way: a surefire way to crack him.

Yet again he showed no emotion whatsoever and stood at the back of the class to continue teaching.

AHHHHHHH we've run out of ideas!
