Disposable Posts

wimbledon train tracks; a drizzly day in oxford
Come Christmas, I had a lot of time on my hands. I created a nice post which featured an Elvis cardboard cut out, a Christmas tree and even a spiffy GIF. After exams I said. No, after reading week. No, after this weekend.
Well, several weekends have passed and that post expired long ago. So instead I bring you this simple post and a cheery hello. Welcome back

Prom Night

1: beautiful photo I took of beautiful Lucy's back
2: chammmmpaaagne!
3: me and Phoebe's oh-so-peachy behind
4: the wait between courses produced this. thanks Jake
5: me and my boyfriend. It's our three year anniversary TODAY! :D
6: "bucks fizz" which was most definitely just tropicana in a fancy glass

Just a few photos from our "Leavers Ball" i.e. prom. I wore green with a rose gold necklace and clutch + nudey fur jacket, all courtesy of my mother, haha. I was generally happy about my dress [Monsoon] until it decided to photo almost a minty colour with flash when it was actually grass green. Lies.... But that aside,  everyone looked gorgeous, it was a hell of a lot of fun,, and I have the blisters from 11 hours in my Kurt Geiger's to prove it!
What colour did you wear to your prom? I loved the rainbow of all the girls at mine :)

Yes I'm back from holidays/stress etc!

Had a pretty eventful week since finishing my exams on Thursday, it was followed by our Leavers Ball, a birthday barbeque and the obligatory 'i-have-no-holiday-clothes' panic. Just finished packing for Cyprus tomorrow, where 53 members of my year group are accompanying me for a week. Yes, 53.

Having a luggage panic, looks like I'm wearing 2 pairs of shoes to the airport tomorrow. And trying to work out what to do with my millions of liquids. Happy holidays everyone! Have a safe trip, see y'all in a week! x

ahh too many liquids; the BIG asos box; I'm on a mug!

Plus thank you so much for the fake tan tips - everything worked out splendidly with exfoliation, mits and moisturiser!

nb: this is actually my second fake instagram post. I started on 00. huh.

For Her Majesty

Managed to get a bit collage happy on iPiccy and came up with these... The jubilee pageant was pretty awesome. Managed to be on a boat on the pier before the Queen, so alas, no Elizabeth for me, but I did catch sight of Boris Johnson, Karen from the Apprentice and some "Sirs" and "Ladys". Despite the weather (which was appropriately English) we soldiered through, saw some amazing boats and experienced a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. My only regret is not going to a street party - our road was too big.
There's never been a better time to be British!
How did you celebrate the Jubilee? I'm curious as to whether anyone international paid attention :)

Just some fake "instagram" shots seeing as I only have a crappy Blackberry. Can't believe my phone is meant to last me 2 years - 6 months in and I have to do a battery pull every morning plus I have three apps [zomg] which is apparently too much. Really? Really?

I think I'll do this every two weeks as I like seeing my life looking way cooler than it actually is, hence the post title. I even considered #myindielife or #myhipsterlife.

Caaaan I interest you in some lovely items in my eBay? Some aztec pieces that will take you from spring to summer, AND a beautiful brand new Topshop fur coat. See here

The Orange Paper Hat

cutout shoulder red dress vero moda @ asos £24 £16.50, topshop ring, fashionistA magnetic nail polish in frankie

Merry Boxing day Boxing day!* I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and that you've awoken from various food comas. My parents banned me from eating my 4th mini Christmas dinner today. It was sad. Anyway, instead of listing gifts (both the nail polish- which chips like crazy -and ring were gifts though) I'll list what we ate. So I can relive the deliciousness which is Christmas food.

Starter: Gravlax - cold cured salmon (which I cured myself!) with a creamy horseradish sauce and capers
Main: Roast turkey, pigs in a blanket, stuffing, sage & onion sausage meat, almond & marzipan sausage meat, brussel sprouts, slightly charred parsnips, roast potatoes all smothered in gravy and served with bread sauce & cranberry jelly. Mmmm
Dessert: White chocolate cheese cake, Christmas pudding

Yes Christmas lunch is quite the (delayed) occasion at my house. Looking forward to turkey soup & sandwiches. Anyway, I've got to go and drain my cinnamon & gingerbread syrup. Originally meant to be gingerbread, but got a bit excited with the cinnamon sticks...
I'll leave you with my favourite Christmas tree decoration, this adorable owl.

*For Americans, that's the British name for the day after Christmas when you give presents to your servants, post men etc. This year my servants (aka my three brothers) got their presents on the day. Lucky beggars

London's burning

Ventured down to visit Clapham Junction and help clear up this morning, and to be honest, we weren't prepared for this devastating sight. Broken glass, burnt out buildings, alarms still blaring. It was so.... weird. People were gathered at police lines, armed with brooms, bin bags and gloves. Starbucks and other shops were offering free coffee and water, and there was a strong sense of community ablaze. We wandered up Lavender Hill, staring at the carnage of the fire before police kicked us out. We left in a slight daze. One word for this: disgusting.
Keep your fingers crossed and keep safe x

Flower garlands and country lanes

vintage/old denim jacket, ebay sandals £3, charity shop floral midi dress £3.50, asos silver armour ring £6
These photos are from a lovely day spent in Hampshire at my grandparents house, reading, making daisy chains and eating barbecue, raspberries & meringue before we were rudely interupted by a thunderstorm and heavy rain - a rainbow compensated for the wetness.
I loved swanning around in this dress, a steal from a charity shop where Jazmine regulary volunteers. I bought it in the midst of winter where summer pining was highest, and have heavily planned its debut. The cut is so incredibly flattering for my shape, I think I'll have to copy the pattern: tied in waist, v-neck, flared skirt. Hopefully this is the start of many a maxi/midi dress related ventures.

+ Aren't the flowers lovely? The only ones out were blue and purple, but luckily they match my dress. Ohhhh the wonders of a 50mm lens

Blogger has been deleting everyone's posts as you've noticed, I'm reposting this one!
